Golden Grove Unleaving

Yesterday: this golden umbrella overhead.

Today: vile wind and rain, throttling the branches.

Bye, bye, leaves.

  1. A beautiful post, both the image and the words. Gives a real feel of autumn (my favourite season).

  2. What a beautiful color. Is it perhaps a birch tree? I know nothing of the trees in New England but the color reminds me of aspen trees which adorn the mountaintops of the West and I believe aspens are a member of the birch family.

  4. I think it's a walnut tree. It's in our neighbor's yard, and I'd go out and check, but the winds and rain are raging. Anyone else out there have an idea?

  5. Lemony-y-y-y. So very pretty.

Beginnings and ends. We are being reminded of the season change here in the midwest. Gusts of wind stand the hair on end—a truly frightful sight.

  6. I could lie back here for hours and watch the gentle sway. Little bit o' dreamland.

  7. Don't you love the light when you are under yellow leaves?

  8. Lovely..but I'm a fan of screaming fall winds and violently whirling leaves, too.
