Reading Corners, Child-sized

Several years ago, when we renovated our oldish home
we carved out several child friendly places.

This one takes the place of a closet:
the top level is a cushioned area
and below is a puppet theater space.

Both spaces have been
well used.

Did you have a special reading place
when you were young?
Or now?

A Reader

It is a touching moment: discovering a child reading one of my books.  This photo captures something even more touching: discovering my granddaughter reading one of my books. It wasn't even a staged photo-op!

Fine, Fine Young Readers

I rarely have the chance to catch readers in the act of reading one of my books, so these two photographs are treasures. The girls are triplets.

The Unfinished Angel scene: The Nature of Signora Divino

Today, one more reading from The Unfinished Angel.  Sometimes the Angel throws pine cones at Signora Divino and her grandson Vinny.  Sometimes the Angel pinches them a little. In this scene, the Angel explains why.

This is the last scene I'll read from this book.  Probably.

The Angel, Zola and the Pigeon

This is a scene between the young American girl, Zola, and the Angel from the chapter "Pigeons" in The Unfinished Angel. When I was out on book tour, I'd snare a volunteer from the audience to read the part of Zola while I read the Angel's lines. We had a good time.

This crazy Angel. . .here is a scene between a young girl, Zola, and the Angel:
