Life and writing, serious and humorous, old and young, past and present: it's all part of the fabric.
“Maybe we’re here only to say: house, bridge, well, gate, jug, olive-tree, window--at most, pillar, tower--but to say them, remember, oh! to say them in a way that the things themselves never dreamed of so intensely.” --Rilke
I know you're proud of her! And she is surely proud of you! I have looked at your books on line because my daughter is teaching my grandson to be an avid reader since both of her parents are but it looks like we need to wait another year for his reading skills to improve just a tad. He is not quite seven, although he is probably a bit advanced because they read absolutely every day!
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughter must be very proud of you! I sweet moment indeed.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I appreciate all of your very gracious comments.
There is no way it would need to be staged -- I haven't met a kid yet (or adult) that doesn't love that book!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you write children's books and cute cute - your granddaughter there reading one. I've always wanted to write a book and illustrate one. I keep practicing so one day I may just do it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit to my nature blog.
Sharon, I glanced at your website and will have to go back when I have time and look further. You have so many, wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteThat is an endearing, adoring smile. It must make you feel wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYou must have felt a warm glow all over! Nothing could be better for a writer of children's books!
ReplyDeleteShe's a fine-looking young lady, too!
Has some of your snow melted by now?
Very special indeed!
ReplyDeleteWalk Two Moons is one of the first books that I remember having a really intense connection with, and I guess because of that you have always been sort of superhuman to me. This picture and story make you so human :-) You will always be superhuman to me, but now your humanly superhuman! Thank you for your wonderful impact in my life.

ReplyDeleteHi Sharon - thanks for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteI love this picture - it's even more special because it's your grand daughter. I'm going to check out your web site and your books.
I am sure that is a wonderful feeling! Thank you for the compliment on my photo. tell my daughters who visited my blog. Some 10 years ago they read and loved a book titled "Walk Two Moons"! Imagine my surprise to see who you were!
ReplyDeleteI special moment indeed, the greatest satisfaction a grandmother can have.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture, and lovely book. I remember reading Love That Dog while waiting to board a plane to the Netherlands. I almost missed the flight because I wasn't listening to the boarding call. I just couldn't put it down!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my blog the other day. It was a surprising treat, and it was very kind of you.
