Photo Play
You have probably all been proficient with Photoshop for ages, but I am just beginning to explore its possibilities. Today I'm particularly enchanted with the painterly effects, as in the above, using an original photograph of an Iris border on the TASIS campus in England.
Any suggestions for what I might try next with Photoshop?
And do painter or photographer purists scorn this program or embrace it, do you know?

Sharon...I have photoshop elements and use it frequently on my photographs...especially with these new cards I am making. I go to artistic and chose watercolor or palette knife. There are so many things you can play with. It is hard to see the strokes unless the photo is relatively large.
ReplyDeleteTo each his own in terms of purism. It's all creative. Just enjoy it.
Since I have no experience with this, I'll step aside and let others speak. I'm glad you're having fun, though.
ReplyDeleteSharon,
ReplyDeleteI use (free) brushes for Photoshop (like the ones here: http://www.brusheezy.com/brushes) If you search for 'free Photoshop brushes' you will find thousands. My favorite are stars!
You can also get some cool framing tools here: http://www.ononesoftware.com/free/templates/ I use them often.
Love your picture!!
*Click photo to enlarge, better to see the effects.
ReplyDeleteJust to see these lovely flowers helps take my SNOW blues away! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI guess I need an editor. That should probably be: Just seeing these beautiful flowers takes my SNOW blues away. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm just now progressing to the point that I may consider Photoshop. I understand it can be quite complicated and I'm sorta a simple person, so at this point I just do Picnik. Let us know how about your progress as you learn.
ReplyDeleteYour recent shots are 'killing' me. Enjoy the weather.
ReplyDeleteI use Photoshop Elements and use the paintbrush effects.
ReplyDeleteI also like playing around with my photos. When it comes to being creative its each to its own! Love those Irisses!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite artist filters are the Cut Out and Poster Edges.
ReplyDeleteI mostly use photoshop to make myself look young and slim and gorgeous without the pain and cost of plastic surgery. Sometimes I can spend whole afternoons like that. But not often. And only when I'm REALLY trying to avoid writing.
