Life and writing, serious and humorous, old and young, past and present: it's all part of the fabric.
“Maybe we’re here only to say: house, bridge, well, gate, jug, olive-tree, window--at most, pillar, tower--but to say them, remember, oh! to say them in a way that the things themselves never dreamed of so intensely.” --Rilke
It's lovely! I paint with acrylics/oils and enjoy drawing with paper or on a tablet (learning the tablet this year). Do you paint/draw for fun/what mediums do you use?
ReplyDeleteI like the idea from Heartbeat. Leave the still life right where it is for the rest of the summer and draw/paint it every day at least once.
ReplyDeletesuperhero princess: I often paint/draw in any medium at hand - I love the utensils but have no training and less skill.
ReplyDeleteFred: Great idea! But we ate the pepper and the rose petals are falling, falling. Well, maybe that's okay--the pepper stem and the falling petals, etc.!
I wish, Sharon, that I could draw and paint. Each time I attempt something, I am disappointed in the results. That might be why I love photography so much. I love the color contrasts. Congratulations on growing the pepper...and I'm glad you ate it!
ReplyDelete... a bit of drooling.
ReplyDeleteI draw breath and paint myself into corners...does that count?
ReplyDeletebrattcat: you are too clever for me!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I do love the crisp sweet crunch of a pepper.

The beauty of the photo lies in its simplicity.
