Just as in a book where I sometimes change point of view or perspective in order to highlight another aspect of the story, I thought it would be interesting to see the above rendered in black and white:

So different. The black and white feels more sculptural to me, with more emphasis on form.
Do you have a preference?
I always seem to prefer color, especially when it involves flowers!
ReplyDeleteYour island is beautiful! I love color, so I usually prefer color photos over black & white. But I do really like artsy photos that are black & white with a random pop of color in it.
ReplyDeleteAlthough the contrast is great in the black and white, I prefer the color shot. There is such richness in the flowers.
ReplyDeleteI, too, have to weigh in on the color option for this particular image, though there are certainly times when monochrome tells a deeper story.
ReplyDeleteI'll be an oddball and say I prefer the black and white. There are so many little details that I didn't notice in color photo because I automatically focused on the bright flowers.
ReplyDeleteI love the first shot with color energy and so sweet decoration! It's adorable!
