I am addicted to walks
slow, meandering walks
drawn to layers
Everything relates to story
the frozen water
cupping frozen leaves
is a mind
holding an untold story
it waits
and waits
until
the thaw
::
I am drawn to water
water
water
and what lies beneath:
layers
of stone and silt and shell
Writing a story
is uncovering
the layers
sifting the silt
hoping there is more
than sludge
down there.
I enjoy the layered look everywhere: nature, clothes, personalities and more. Annie Hall?
ReplyDeleteLayers are great in scrapbooking as well. You make me want to get writing.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy slow walks as well. Clears the mind and allows for other thoughts to flow.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this very much. Life is like that. A series of layers.
ReplyDeleteeven with only sludge to work with you'd still make something beautiful.
ReplyDeleteForgot to say I placed an order with JetPens for a box of Blackwing Pencils and also a Wow ballpoint. Can't wait to get them.

Dear Mrs. Creech,
ReplyDeleteI liked the poem because it had to do with layers and water and about how water can turn into ice. I liked the pictures you had because it made me wonder how the pictures can tell a story.
Sincerely,

Dear Mrs. creech
ReplyDeleteI love your poem about water.
I think ice is weird, because it's water that is a solid. I think that I should write a poem about water someday.
Sincerely,
