Two nights ago, the scene above:
geese on tranquil lake
at sunset.
Tonight, though,
the wind is howling
the rain is pelting
the water surging
past sunset
inky black.
I had a calm scene to write tonight
but the relentless winds
are skewing the scene
tossing it
here and there.
And that's the way it goes.
Mm?
Great photo Sharon. Love the color and composition. It was pretty ugly here today, and has finally stopped raining. Howling winds tho.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely words, Sharon. Exactly what I need as I settle in for the night. Gorgeous photo too. Very calming. Sweet dreams. . .
ReplyDeletemother nature is always a co-creator and a muse to the writer/artist/musician, isn't she. enjoy her company.
ReplyDeleteI love the photograph with the sky reflected in the water. Will the stormy weather change your calm scene?
ReplyDeleteA few words, a picture, and you said it all!the mood, the light, what you're doing, how things have influence on what you're doing..A kind of long haïku! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a golden palette. Perfect way to complete a day.
ReplyDeleteSquawk, squawk, squawk, squawk, squawk...
Perfect description of my desk and me peering out at the bird feeder bouncing on its bungee cord in the wind.
ReplyDeleteYou are only the second person I have met, the first one I did meet in person when I went to their home in Arkansas, who lived in Chautauqua. Irene DaBoll was her name. He husband a great type font designer and the father of American calligraphy: my mentor.
Isn't it amazing how weather and nature influence what we do? So much of what I observe around me shapes my creative decisions.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! Happy Christmas, Sharon!
