Meeting Ms. Millay

Today outside the Camden Public Library
I came upon
Edna St. Vincent Millay -
head turned toward Camden Harbor

I followed her gaze

(I tried to post a third photo here,
of me beside Ms. Millay
but it does not want to upload.
Maybe tomorrow . . .)

  1. You take such good ocean pictures! Some of them remind me of some of JMW Turner's oil paintings.

His paintings had more fire to them, though. This picture almost looks like the aftermath of one of his works; the calm after the storm. Waiting.

  2. If you combine Ms. Millay and the vista ahead of her, it would look like a Winslow Homer watercolor, which I very much like. But I also like your photos.

  3. Oh, how I love the Camden Public Library! The setting alone is to die for, but the library itself is wonderful. (I also recommend the Ellsworth Public Library,,,& the Belfast Free Library...)
Isn't there a Millay plaque atop Mount Battie?
