There is a point
in the writing of a story
when ideas and images
burst open
and fling themselves
here and there
and you scurry
to
catch
them
before they fly
away.
Life and writing, serious and humorous, old and young, past and present: it's all part of the fabric.
“Maybe we’re here only to say: house, bridge, well, gate, jug, olive-tree, window--at most, pillar, tower--but to say them, remember, oh! to say them in a way that the things themselves never dreamed of so intensely.” --Rilke
Beautiful image and beautiful words, Sharon! Thank you for sharing them with the world. I love milkweed plants, so your tweet caught my attention. The ripe seed pods are a wonderful metaphor for ideas bursting forth.
ReplyDeleteI keep a notebook and pen handy on my nightstand for those times that the ideas fly away and I want to try to catch them before they're lost with the sunrise and all the busy distractions of the new day.
Thank you,
Denise
Last week the wind blew the milkweed all over the pasture. Great shot Sharon. It feels like silk doesn't it? I'll bet you are working on that next book.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting shot.
ReplyDeleteThe pod appears energized, electrified; sort of like an idea spark.
I thought they were fireworks or sparklers.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, bursts of light.
Isn't that true!
