I've been away
in California
for the annual
ALA (American Library Association) Conference.
Thousands of librarians gather
along with publishers and authors.
We all celebrate books.
Great energy.

What a fine, fine time.
More to come
after I unpack.

Our small town librarian went and had a great time. So wonderful to know so many people celebrate books!
ReplyDeleteUn merveilleux trio... Gros bisous.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo. . . kinda reminds me of a "girlfriends" shot from high school. (I mean that in a good way.) Everyone looks very relaxed and happy. You must have had a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteSomeone must have gotten an advanced copy of The Great Unexpected (They mentioned on your blog that they read it.) because I tried to purchase a copy today and the bookstore informed me that release was set for September 4th. Anticipation. . .
Welcome home. Glad you had a great time. Did you get Daniela's letter? Ariana bought "Walk Two Moons" at the bookstore yesterday...the new cover. Her teacher will be thrilled. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed the trip! I look forward to hearing more about the experience. Someday I will attend ALA. My wish is to serve on the Caldecott Committee.
ReplyDeleteLOVED, LOVED, LOVED getting some quality time with my wonderful Sharon. Love and kisses!
ReplyDeleteSharon,
ReplyDeleteIt was so great to meet you in person at #ala12! It was an awesome moment for me because I had the chance to thank you in person for inspiring my students to write poetry. I'll owe you forever for that one.
I can't wait to tell my students that you took my picture.
