Some 20,000 librarians, publishers and writers
descended on Anaheim, CA,
for the annual American Library Association conference
June 21-26, 2012.
This was a crazy, good time to celebrate books
and to meet twitter/blog/facebook followers
and librarians
and colleagues
(Judy Zuckerman)
(Katy Horning, Emily Kokie)
(Randy and Karen Hesse)
(me, Ed Spicer, Katherine Applegate)
(Joanna Cotler, Susan Katz, Kate Jackson, Lisa von Drasek)
(Newbery winner Jack Gantos and daughter Mabel)
Such a week!
Such good folk!
Wish I had been able to take more photos

ReplyDeleteOk, two things:
ReplyDeleteOne a comment on society and then a random compliment-
1st comment--- are there NO male librarians living in the world today????? hahahaha
Next--- nice picture of the Hesses!
There are TWO male librarians in the world today and they are pictured above. :)) Actually, I think I know five. We need more men in the biz, yes.
DeleteSC-
ReplyDeleteWent looking for The Great Unexpected today. Bookstore says book to be released to bookstores in Sept. Truth or Lie? hahaha Available online now?
Only the ARC ('advance reader copy' - for reviewers - not the final 'best' copy) was available at ALA. 'Real' book will be out Sept 4.
