Snow at the Lake
We left home a week ago at the start of a blizzard and we returned home last night to find several feet of fresh, white snow decorating the house, the trees, the newly-frozen lake. It's a pure, white vista from my office window.
We have been waiting for this first big snowfall of the season and are grateful we can stay put and enjoy it. By March, people will be cursing this snow that now seems miraculous.
My husband won't mind shoveling today, but it's the tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow that might wear him down. Yes, I will help. Probably.
Stay warm, all of you in snow country. . .

Sounds cold....and I have gotten some visits from Frosty the Snowman, not as much though! To cold, to cold!! I don't really like snow...but it is very pretty! Brrr! Bundle up, it's nippy!
ReplyDeletemaybe you could just stay inside and make warm drinks? it's beautiful tho---
ReplyDeleteI sure remember those days, looking out the front windows at the lake. It was almost 3 miles across where we lived. Quite a sight.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful here too in Northern Alberta but coupled with the windchill, even early-season snow feels like another reason to stay inside. One can't deny its beauty though.
ReplyDeleteI suggest your job is staying inside and baking pineapple cake. We have only a light dusting of snow here. Can't even be measured in inches. Yours is a downy-deep blanket. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBy March? ha ha ha
ReplyDeleteSnow is the devil in disguise. Beautiful, enticing but oh so evil!
Wow! It is everywhere now! The northern hemisphere is cold................
ReplyDeleteWow, it's been a long time since I've seen snow like that and yes, it is absolutely delightful when it first falls...not so much later, as you mention.
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous photos, too. I don't know how you get any writing done, though...with this vista in the winter and those wonderful lake views in the summer!
Thanks so much for all of your comments today. Very nice and much appreciated!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you for your comments on VDP they are much appreciated. I'm not sure I couls ever tire of snow, even if it means shovelling. I love winter. Lovely seasonal photos.
