(Acadia National Park, Mt. Desert Island, Maine)
Life and writing, serious and humorous, old and young, past and present: it's all part of the fabric.
“Maybe we’re here only to say: house, bridge, well, gate, jug, olive-tree, window--at most, pillar, tower--but to say them, remember, oh! to say them in a way that the things themselves never dreamed of so intensely.” --Rilke
All of the natural elements in these photos are wonderful; a place of great beauty!
ReplyDeleteLove those photos & love that sound...it's so rare to be free of car sounds these days...Acadia = True Love!
ReplyDeleteOh, I know exactly how it feels. A beautiful capture of Maine. It is similar at Pemaquid on a rainy day when there are not a ton of people about. I have not been back to Acadia since we went family camping long ago. I hope we can get there next summer, but I adore Southport Island and the peace I find there.

These pictures are beautiful, Sharon! When I was kid, my family would vacation in Bar Harbor, ME, and Acadia National Park was one of our favorite places to visit. Thanks for the memories!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading and writing! from Laura Marcella @ Wavy Lines
I live near Yosemite so I'm a little partial to YNP, but Acadia is a gorgeous park, especially because of the unusual presence of the ocean. I nver miss to pay a tribute to its splendor when I visit Maine in the summer. Thank you for the exquisite photos and words.
ReplyDeleteLove this photograph. Reminds me of George Dorr's Old Farm. My heart can't get enough of Maine, especially MDI.
ReplyDeleteSharon, did you take these pics? They're gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYes . . . and thanks.
