Oops.
In the last blog post
a photo of tomatoes on the vine
prompted the recall of
a long-ago poem.
I thought the first two lines were:
clothes on the line
tomatoes on the vine
BUT!
Today I remembered the correct version:
flowers on the vine
bermudas on the line
summer came and
summer went and
no one fed the swine.
++
Ho!
Flowers!
Bermudas!
No tomatoes!
Bermudas!
No tomatoes!
Brains are amazing storehouses . . .
xx
They are! Love how time and space can bring clarity or recall memory.
ReplyDeleteAnd then, when you realize your brain lapse, it almost seems unbelievable! I like the tomatoes better than the Bermudas. xo
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Bermudas were the color of ripe tomatoes....
ReplyDeleteLove these posts.
ha! it's funny how the swine remained the constant in each poem.
ReplyDeleteBermudas! Ha!
ReplyDeleteThe memory returns.
ReplyDeleteIt always does. Sometimes in the strangest of places and times though.
I like the Ho! too. Still melodic & playful with words...Did you paint the little watercolor? It has an asian calligraphic feel to it & is very sweet!
ReplyDeleteYes, I did the little watercolor . . .
