Life and writing, serious and humorous, old and young, past and present: it's all part of the fabric.
“Maybe we’re here only to say: house, bridge, well, gate, jug, olive-tree, window--at most, pillar, tower--but to say them, remember, oh! to say them in a way that the things themselves never dreamed of so intensely.” --Rilke
You'll love that little camera. I had never heard of the Flip until my husband got me one for Christmas and I've been enjoying it immensely. A lot of times I use it instead of a regular camera so I can capture the sounds I am hearing. One night when the desert toads had come to life after a big rain, I filmed the scene. You couldn't really see much and I didn't expect to, but the sound was terrific.
ReplyDeleteThe view from your deck is wonderful.
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely! I can't wait to visit Chautauqua again; there's nowhere quite the same in the world.
ReplyDeleteLife on the lake today... looks marvelous!
ReplyDeleteWonderful news lake side and desk side.
ReplyDeleteSharon...how did you ever find my Journal? Thanks for the generous comments. Do you know that I am from Chautauqua? Grew up at Maple Bay and still have good friends in the area (including my Brother in Lakewood). My husband is from Jamestown and used to work on the lake (weed cutter)many years ago. Your desk looks good to me...and the view of the lake reminds me of what I am missing.
ReplyDeleteSharon...we live in Brockport near Rochester. We are a little under 2 1/2 hours from you. It looks like you are right on the lake...which part?
ReplyDeletethis looks like a 1950s postcard. nice
