I am still
swooning
in the garden
in this riot
of color
and fragrance
and texture:
rock and lichen
and moss and petals
and leaves
each offsets
the other
as in a story
the smooth softens the rough
the muted balances the bold
the fragile offsets the strong
humor tames the serious
mm?
xx
So well said..
ReplyDeleteGardens inspire poetry..quotes..words..thoughts....all the time.
What I see and read here is total, lovely harmony...and those garden characters are lucky to have you as narrator!
ReplyDeleteBalance in words, color, and texture.
ReplyDeleteBonjour,
ReplyDeleteDame Nature nous offre des merveilles... merci de nous montrer de si belles photos accompagnées de beaux mots.
Je vous souhaite un bel été.

Morning Sharon. Were your gardens established or did you put them in when you moved there? Love the colors.
ReplyDeleteLori -- Fortunately for us, they were established. We have added a little and maintained what was there.
DeleteBeautiful photographs and poetry along with writing advice! Bravo! Xxoo
ReplyDeleteLooks like you covered it all. Yup, that's what a summer garden can do for the soul.
ReplyDeleteYour words and pictures make me want to be a better gardener.
ReplyDeleteWe really liked one of your poems, "Contrast." This poem reminds us of the wonderful spring and not the horrid winter we had. We really liked how you took your time to write this poem to help people not look at the snowy snow winter. This really helped us look on the bright side of this beautiful spring. Thank you for writing this wonderful and very enjoyable poem.
