Buoys

Life and writing, serious and humorous, old and young, past and present: it's all part of the fabric.
“Maybe we’re here only to say: house, bridge, well, gate, jug, olive-tree, window--at most, pillar, tower--but to say them, remember, oh! to say them in a way that the things themselves never dreamed of so intensely.” --Rilke
A very classic Maine scene.
ReplyDeleteUne décoration qui peut devenir en hiver celle d'un noël nautique...
ReplyDeleteGros bisous.
Is that standard practice, to remove buoys from the water during winter? I guess I've never given it a thought. Lovely colors and an interesting variety of shapes and sizes though.
ReplyDeleteWinter vacation for these hard working buoys. Just hanging out and sharing a few tales. . .
Karen: I *think* the answer is that yes, they remove the buoys in the winter (in part to repair and repaint), unless they are esp. hearty lobstermen and continue to trap.
DeleteDo I see snow?
ReplyDeleteLori: Yes! A couple inches but now it's raining. Alas. Snow where you are yet?
DeleteWe loved seeing the colorful buoys hanging in yards on our visit to Maine...almost like holiday lights.
