Down in the harbor
boatmen and women
are making repairs
steadily preparing
to wrap up for winter
cocooning
as the sun
slides lower and lower
in the sky
and the dinghies
lie in wait
for their final shuttles
of the season
. . .
xx
if i could be be a boat, i'd want to be a dinghy. or maybe a canoe. both boats are quiet and helpful. plus, they look effortlessly pretty perched above that dark blue water.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so beautiful and really quite peaceful.
ReplyDeleteI think Camden, Maine should be granted some special privilege to be summer all year long. It is such a lovely spot! And this is coming from someone who loves Boothbay!! So picturesque and friendly.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place to visit! So when are you going to publish a book of poems?
ReplyDeleteAh, perhaps some day . . . xx
DeleteEverything that has to do with boats and sealife makes me happy. So does this post!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures and fabulous light there..
Very tranquil, very lovely, very autumn, Sharon...
ReplyDeleteThese are Fine, Fine Boats...(Can you guess what picture book I just read?)
Ho! Yes, I can!
Delete... and might you be inside at a nearby restaurant with a warm plate of clams?
ReplyDeleteNo clams. Outside on a bench sipping coffee and eating a chocolate croissant. Mmmm.
