Communing with Flowers

Summer:  Maine

The flowers have erupted

all the more appreciated
after the browns and grays of winter

the colors so rich and pure
the petals intricate and lush
or
pure and simple

Nothing we create is as perfect
but
we
keep
attempting
. . .

in
story
or
art

but

what a high bar
nature
sets

and
I'll bow
to that

xx

  1. I agree, there is nothing more perfect than a flower. We humans can't create anything like it.

Maine winters are long. It's a short, sweet summer.

  4. Hey Sharon! So well put, and I love the photographs. By now you must be settled in and loving your new home. Are you looking out that window when you write?
