  2. You are going to be one busy woman! Wish Brockport was on that tour. When will you be moving?

    1. End of October. (Though I am now in Maine and soon will be on book tour for much of Sept and Oct). Crazyville.

  3. Naperville, here I come. . . I'd been wondering when your book tour was going to be. I am curious about the date though: Anderson's states that you will be there on Monday, September 17th, rather than the 20th. Are there public days and those in which pre-registration is required?

I've been absent from my own blog for several weeks now (unintended) due to an unusually hectic summer. In fact, it was just yesterday that I picked up my copy of "The Great Unexpected." I was awestruck by the cover. Couldn't run my hand over it enough. . . :-)

    1. Karen: Really, you can come to Naperville?! The dates have changed since the original ones on the website. New dates are above - the store event is Sept 30 - you might want to confirm that w/store and get time . . .

      xx

  4. The 2 1/2 hours drive would be worth it, Sharon. I'd verify the date before making the trip though.

  5. Hi Sharon. Karen's sister, Kelley, here. How would someone new to the world of publishing go about presenting an idea for a children's book?
Writing is something I've wanted to do since I
was a child (many moons ago!)

    1. Yes, we's "sistas" and we have ink and graphite flowing through our veins, and we both happen to like office supply stores. I'm certain it has something to do with the paper.

I get a little nervous whenever I play Scrabble with this one. She is a word-meister and a reader of many books.

Sharon: Love the second (full) paragraph on page 17 of The Great Unexpected, the reference to "standing on the moon." I want to go where Lizzie goes. Have you gone there?

    2. Kelley: there are several good books on writing and publishing for children - check your bookstore or library - your question is not a quick one to answer. Good luck.
Karen: Yes, I've often gone to the moon.

    3. Sharon: Thank you for the reply. I know you are very busy with the move to Maine and the upcoming book tour. Good luck with both ventures.

  9. Just finished reading your beautiful, beautiful new book. Sad I won't be able to see you on the book tour, but hope to meet you someday and thank you in person. Your books always seem to arrive right when I need them. Thank you.

  10. Do you have the details of when you will be in Los Angeles on October 5th? I contacted the bookstore and they did not know the when and where. Thank you!

    1. The Childrens Bookstore site said that October 5th was a school even but individuals were welcome. I bought my 10 year old a copy of The Great Unexpected and she was so excited to be able to come and get it autographed because she just did an oral report on you. What about the event in Irvine on the 4th?
