Life and writing, serious and humorous, old and young, past and present: it's all part of the fabric.
“Maybe we’re here only to say: house, bridge, well, gate, jug, olive-tree, window--at most, pillar, tower--but to say them, remember, oh! to say them in a way that the things themselves never dreamed of so intensely.” --Rilke
I love this video so much more than a slickly produced studio production! Can't wait to read the new book, it was featured in a bookstore email I just received.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about the faulty video camera...it does the job. It captures your warmth and that's all that matters.
You are the next Meryl Streep, I think. I loved watching you on film just as much as I love watching her. Can't wait for more.
ReplyDeleteThank you, TJ and brattcat. This is like learning to swim by jumping off the end of the dock.
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile. The heart of your stories comes through right there in your lovely face and your voice. Very brave of you. I mean, you could have worn a cow suit for example, which is great fun but perhaps a different kind of brave.
ReplyDeleteCate--thank you. I like your blog, too.
ReplyDeleteI just stumbled across your blog after checking in on Lois Lowry...so glad to know you are out there in the blogosphere for a chat every now and then! Loved the videos (faulty camera or otherwise)...your humor and warmth are infectious. Can't wait to read the book and you don't have to worry about me treating it well..I will cherish it, I am sure.
